HISTORICAL DEPTH. ANALYTICAL RIGOR. INSTITUTIONAL REFORM.

Agard Research Associates, Inc. is an independent research institute that produces scholarship and policy analysis on institutional design, workplace conditions, and the laws that shape American working life. We believe the hardest questions in these fields are best addressed by joining contemporary policy analysis with the depth of perspective that historical and humanistic scholarship provide.

Why Our Work Matters

Decisions about workplaces, institutions, and the laws that govern them shape lives for decades. Too often they are made without historical perspective or systematic evidence. Agard Research Associates joins rigorous policy research with the depth of historical and humanistic scholarship, producing analysis that serves government, organizations, and the public debate that informs both. The institutions Americans depend on, from working life to civic participation to the welfare of those who have served, are worth studying with seriousness and reforming with care.

Engage With Our Work

Our research is written to be used. Working papers, policy briefs, and analytical studies are available to read and download. Workshops and professional development programs are open to organizations seeking to strengthen workplace culture and institutional design, and K-12 programming is available to all schools and educators. We welcome inquiries from journalists seeking informed commentary, from organizations exploring partnerships in employment assistance or behavioral health, and from students and early-career scholars.

Support Independent Research

Agard Research Associates, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Contributions fund our research and policy analysis, our workshops and educational programming, and our direct services in employment assistance and behavioral health. Support from individuals and institutions who value nonpartisan scholarship is what allows the institute to set its own research agenda and serve the people its mission was built for.
